Cornelius Clifford Floyd (born December 5, 1972 in Chicago, Illinois) is a left fielder in Major League Baseball with the New York Mets.

Early years

At Thornwood High School around South Holland, Illinois, Floyd was a 3-sport star around baseball, football, and basketball. Around basketball, he led his high to the Class AA Sectional Playoffs. Inside leading his team to the state finals as a senior, he hit .508 with 130 runs batted in during the final two years of his high school prep career. He was heavy recruited by Arizona State University and Stanford, but while a Montreal Expos drafted him as a Fourteenth pick in the First around of the 1991 amateur draft, Floyd made there are no hesitation & chose to return a minor leagues.

Major league career

Floyd processed his major league debut inside 1993, playing around Tenner games sustaining a Exposition. Within 1997, Floyd was traded from a Exhibition to the Florida Marlins for Dustin Hermanson and Joe Orsulak. Within 1998, Floyd earned a starting position in the Marlins' outfield.

Inside 2002, Floyd was traded from a Marlins back to the Exposition, by owning Claudio Vargas, Wilton Guerrero & cash, for Graeme Lloyd, Mike Mordecai, Carl Pavano, Justin Wayne, and Donald Levinski. Late that season, Floyd was traded from either a Exhibition to the Boston Red Sox for Sun-Woo Kim and Seung Song.

Around 2003, Floyd was signed by the New York Mets.

Around the Baker's dozen-month career, Floyd has batted .283 using 195 home runs, 715 RBI, and 139 stolen bases in 1,290 games.
